GARCIA, John Jr., of Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Sparrow Health System of Lansing. John Garcia, Jr. was born on April 10, 1943 in Texas to the late Juan Sr. and Maria (Arredondo) Garcia. John was as employed by General Motors – Malleable Iron; retiring in July of 2008 after 36 years of service. He enjoyed dancing and especially loved his black Cadillac.

Surviving are six daughters: Kim Maria Garcia, Lanie (Richard) Garcia, Sandy (Henry) Ramirez, Tania (Leonard) Becker, Elizabeth Garcia, Jr, and Santana Garcia; a fiancée, Estrellita Gonzalez; a sister, Frances (Jose) Cabello; a brother-in-law, Frank Flores; 20 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by a brother, Jesus Garcia and a sister, Velia Flores.

FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 N. 6th Ave. Rev. Fr. Daniel Anholzer OFMCap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.

VISITATION: Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A vigil service will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. John will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
