MINNIS, Geraldine F. “Geri” of West Branch, formerly of Saginaw Township, passed away on Friday, December 09, 2011, at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. She was 76 years old. Geraldine F. Lewis was born on December 20, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Fred and Goldie (Lucas) Lewis. She married Paul C. Minnis, Jr., on May 21, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2003. Geri was a member of Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church of West Branch. She was also a volunteer at the West Branch Regional Medical Center. Geri loved and cherished dogs, especially Shadow. She treasured and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Geri also enjoyed gardening for the church.

Surviving are two sons: Rick Preston and Dave (Julie) Preston; two grandchildren: Jeremy (Erika) Preston and Melissa (Bob) Kile; five great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Seney; a brother, Fred Lewis; and a stepbrother, Ned (Shari) Cole.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jo Preston.

FUNERAL: Geri’s funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. Pastor Robert Mohr will officiate. Entombment will follow in Oakwood Mausoleum.

VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home on Monday, December 12, 2011, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
