ROCHA, Cora (Socorro) of Saginaw, Michigan went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 13, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Age 104 years. Cora was born on July 27, 1907 in Big Well, Texas to the late Pedro and Erlinda Torres. She married August Rocha on March 10, 1923. He predeceased her on April 18, 1962. Cora was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was the president of the Damas of Guadalupe. She loved her garden, crocheting and cooking but loved her family most.

Cora is survived by her children, Jennie (Joe) Lerma of Blue Island, IL, Peter Rocha of Saginaw, MI, Carol Huron of Saginaw, MI, Lupe Gayton of Chicago, IL, Mary (Bill) Patino of Lansing, MI, Gerry (Joe) Trevino of Saginaw, MI, Ramona (Mike) Jerome of Apache Junction, AZ, and Angela Rocha of Saginaw, MI;17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Cora was preceded in death by four children; three sisters; a brother; two sons-in-laws, Thomas Huron and Ronald Gayton.

The Rocha family would like to give a special thank you to Rosa Barajas for giving such loving care to their mother and a special thank you to Grace Hospice for all their support.

FUNERAL- Cora’s Funeral Liturgy will be take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 906 N. 6th St. Rev. Reginaldo Salcedo will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

VISITATION- Friends may visit with Cora’s family at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, January 16, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Damas of Guadalupe will recite the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Cora will lie in state at the church on Tuesday 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
