Slachta, Gene B.

Passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at St. Mary’s of Michigan.  Age 64 years.  Gene B. Slachta was born on January 24, 1942 in Saginaw to the late John and Ruth (Brown) Slachta. He married Cathy Rae Skidmore on July 15, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives him. Gene owned and operated General Machine Service, Inc. He was an avid golfer and car collector. Gene was a very generous man who loved the out of doors and traveling, but most of all, he loved his family with all of his heart and soul. He will be sadly missed. Surviving besides his wife, Cathy are one daughter and one son, Julie (William) Lesh, Freeland; Stephen (Tammy) Slachta, Freeland; four grandchildren, Meggan (Denny) Neuenfeldt, Freeland; Brandon Bishop, Sara Slachta, Anna Slachta; a brother, John Slachta and many nieces and nephews.

 

FUNERAL: Gene’s funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2006 at The Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State). Rev. Robert G. Richards will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

 

VISITATION: Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, November 9, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
