SPRUCE, Leonard S. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Covenant HealthCare – Harrison. He was 82 years old. Leonard S. Spruce was born on March 16, 1927 in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, to the late John H. and Mary M. (Sherwood) Spruce. He married Margaret Mason on September 3, 1948 at St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. She survives him. Leonard was employed by C & O Railroad as a Blacksmith, Boilermaker and Welder until his retirement. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #82.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children: Deborah (Bill) Kingston of Buckhorn, Ontario, Canada, and Jennifer Spruce of Saginaw; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a special friend, Elizabeth Williams; sisters-in-law: Doreen (Harry) O’Connel of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, Marie (Cliff) Chaplow of St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada and Barb Mason of Port Stanley, Ontario, Canada. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Following Leonard’s wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral services at the funeral home.
