Obituary

Kenneth “Ken” Duane Scott, age 92, of Saginaw, passed away early Thursday morning, December 25, 2025, while surrounded by family at home. He was born on November 13, 1933, to Merton and Lucille (Lalonde) Scott, in Mount Morris, Michigan.

Ken owned his business called Scott Tile and during his career, he had a particular talent and interest for mosaic tile laying. Ken served his country first in the Navy and later joined the Army. He became a paratrooper during the Korean War and He was a proud member of Saginaw Lodge 77 of the Free and Accepted Masons of Michigan and he was also a member of the Elf Khurafeh Shrine, where he served as Captain of the Arab Patrol. He traveled widely as a Shriner and treasured the friendships with his brothers from the Lodge. Ken loved boating and was a member of the Bay City Yacht Club, where he was commodore of the Mariners. Ken was also a loyal member of the Elks, Moose Lodge, the  American Legion, and the VFW.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 38 years, Mary Jane Scott; son, Jeffery (Cindy) Scott; grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew) Schlageter, Danielle Acton, Jonathan (Hillary) Scott, Heather (Jovan) Tucker, and Jason (Devlin) Smith; stepchildren, Suzanne (Tony) Stickle, William (Linda) Wheeler, James (Christy) Wheeler, and Tim (Tammy) Gillam; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many Masonic Lodge Brothers.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Jean Scott; son, Kevin Scott; daughter, Tori Scott; siblings, Merton Scott Jr., Lawrence Scott, Phyllis Baumgart, Fred Scott, Arthur Scott, and Helen Scott.

Memorial Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a Masonic Service held at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Dr. Pamela Renna will officiate. Military Honors will follow. Burial will take place in the Spring of 2026 at Roselawn Memorials Gardens, Saginaw.
