Olgine, Antonio “Bear”

Saginaw, Michigan

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025 at My Michigan Medical Center Saginaw. He was 76 years old. Antonio Olgine was born on April 3, 1949 in Saginaw to Pedro and Carmen Olgine. He graduated from Saginaw High School. Antonio then started working for General Motors, working at Malleable Iron and retiring from Delphi after 34 years of dedicated service. He loved to spend time in his yard, and his work ethic was beyond compare. Antonio also loved to spend time with his family, camping trips and family barbeques. He married Judy Castillo in 1991, and they celebrated 34 wonderful years together.

Antonio is survived by his wife, Judy; children: Tina (Marcus) Bernal, TonyTroy Olgine, Lori (Roy) Ramirez, Jesse (Pau) Olgine, Silvia (Michael) Russ and Jesse (Christina) Castillo; 22 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; many siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Antonio was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Carmen Olgine; sisters, Connie Medina, Frances Benavidez and RoseAnn Flores; and daughter, Christine Castillo.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. The service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the praying of the Rosary. Fr. Francis Voris will then officiate at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. 

MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I'm sorry to hear about Uncle Tony's passing. Since I live out of the state of Michigan, I haven't seen him in years but I do have some fond memories. When I was about five or six years old, he came to our house to visit one day. He parked his motorcycle on the street right in front of our house. The first thing mom said was, "Stay away from that motorcycle". I couldn't. I was crazy about motorcycles and sports cars. As I was looking at the bike I noticed a rainbow on a pipe coming out of the engine. I just had to touch the rainbow and for some reason I used my thumb. The burning sensation was so sudden and painful that I would have screamed if it wasn't for the fact that I told my mom I would stay away. It was a cool motorcycle and worth the burn. Later when I was in elementary school I enjoyed visiting my grandparents especially if I knew Uncle Tony would be there. Which he usually was. Our activity consisted of trying to jump on him and he would toss us on the sofa like rag dolls. We did this over and over until grandma shouted from the kitchen. I'm not sure who had more fun him or us. Another memory is from when I was in high school. Uncle Tony took my cousin David Medina and me to Tricity Dragway to watch the dragsters. It was awesome. I never knew cars could be so loud and so fast. He bought us all kinds of treats. It was one of the best days in my life. He was so generous. I love you Uncle Tony. May you rest in peace.
