Obituary
Gary Louis Kleekamp, age 79, of Saginaw Township and Frankenmuth, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
He was born on January 3, 1946, in Saginaw, the son of Carol (Salesky) and Louis D. Kleekamp.
Gary graduated in 1964 from Arthur Hill High School, then he attended and graduated from Michigan Tech University with a degree in Applied Physics. He went on to Michigan State University for graduate studies in Physics.
In his teen years, Gary helped his father and grandfather design and build the Kleekamp family cottage located on the beach of Lake Huron at Alabaster, just south of Tawas, enjoying many memorable summers there.
Surviving are his sister, Cheryl Schutt of Frankenmuth and her two children, Matthew (Casey) Schutt of Northridge, CA and Kristen Schutt of Saginaw Township, and his sister, Karen (Jay) Reynolds of Saginaw Township, and their children, Kari (Brady) Mitchell of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Heidi Reynolds of Saginaw Township, and Dan (Tiffany) Reynolds of Saginaw Township. Gary is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his nephew, Bryan (Kelsey) Reynolds June.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 12:00 pm, until the time of service at 2:00pm, at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, Saginaw, MI 48603. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw, Michigan.
