Our loving sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. She was 88 years old. Anne Marie Lorentzen was born on June 9, 1936 in Cass City, Michigan to Donald and Helen (Steinmann) Lorentzen. She served her country in the United States Air Force as a registered nurse from 1960 until 1962. Anne worked as a Frontier nurse in the mountains of Kentucky and as a visiting nurse before co-founding Woida Lorentzen Case Management, retiring after several years of dedicated service.

Anne loved traveling and going on river cruises. In her travels she visited over a hundred countries. She was crafty and enjoyed making greeting cards for others. Anne will be remembered for her kindness and compassion toward others while volunteering for Covenant Healthcare. She had volunteered over 19,500 hours at Covenant, holding 4th place for most volunteer hours. Anne was a lover of animals and spoiled her three cats, Buffy, Lexie, and Jessie. But above all, she really loved spending time with her friends and family.

Surviving is one sister in-law, Nancy Lorentzen; two nephews, Thomas Lorentzen and Daniel (Jennifer) Lorentzen; one niece, Nancy (Doug) Anderson; three great nephews and one great niece, Duncan, Cole, Evelynn, and Leo; lifelong best friends, Dorris Gardner and Jan Hufton.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Helen Lorentzen and her brothers, Richard and Donald Lorentzen; one niece, Amy Lorentzen.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2025 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State), Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Ted McCulloch will officiate. A presentation will be given by the Aleda E. Lutz V A Medical Center Nurse Honor Guard.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to American Cancer Society.

As a fellow Covenant volunteer, I’ve always admired Anne’s kindness to others and to me, her exceptional organizational skills, and her continued dedication to the things that were important to her. As I told her, I still think she is that lady on TV promoting a local retirement community - or she has a twin! She will be greatly missed.

Anne has been a friend for many years. Her Mom Helen and my Aunt Mary Mark were long time friends . I graduated from SGH school of nursing and my husband Larry and I were members of Stare St UMC. She was such a generous, kind and professional colleague, always willing to spend time with me and she was always such an extraordinary example of showing respect to both our fellow colleagues and clients.
