Blomstrom, Victor “V.K.”

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Symphony Tri-Cities after a struggle with cancer and dementia. He was 86 years old. Victor Karl Blomstrom was born on April 22, 1938 in Escanaba, Michigan to John and Mae (Nelsen) Blomstrom. As a child, he moved to Saginaw with his family and later graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1956. He married Susan Schleimer on July 21, 1973. He was employed by United Parcel Service as a delivery driver for 38 years. V.K. loved spending time with people, and greatly enjoyed serving the communities of Saginaw, Frankenmuth, Pinconning, Midland and the surrounding area with UPS. A few years after retirement, he worked for Burt Watson Chevrolet as a shuttle driver. In V.K.'s free time, he loved to spend time with his family, bowling, reading and listening to books on tape.
Vic's friendliness and positive attitude will always be remembered by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Brian (Olivia) Blomstrom; daughter, Kelly (Robert) Wyman; three grandsons: Chase Wyman, Brenden and Braxton Blomstrom; mother-in-law, Clara Schleimer; and sister-in-law, Mary Herby; several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Vic was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and a sister-in-law: John and Virginia Blomstrom and James Blomstrom.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of AdvisaCare Hospice who took excellent care of Vic during the last several months.
FUNERAL: A funeral service for Vic will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave, Saginaw, MI 48602. Pastor Erik Schmidt will officiate. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m.; visitation for Vic will continue at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Peace Lutheran Church or AdvisaCare Hospice.
