Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend, Susan Marie Weber, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the age of 79. Susan was born on April 17, 1945, to Herman and Frances (Douglas) Tomforde in Saginaw, Michigan. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald “Gerry” D. Weber, on July 7, 1962, in Saginaw. Together, they shared 52 years of love and memories before Gerry's passing.

Susan was a former member of Peace Lutheran Church and a current member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She worked for several years at St. Mary's Hospital in the Burn Unit as a Nurse's Aide. She found joy in many simple pleasures, including reading, crocheting, and shopping. A true lover of being outside, Susan took great pride in her garden and the beautiful flowers she lovingly grew. Above all, Susan cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy.

Susan's memory will be carried on by her two daughters, Wendy (Rick) Plum and Michelle Tanner; her six grandchildren, Jessica (Scott) Rethman, Jacob Rethman, Tyler (Jamie) Plum, Tanner (Brittany) Plum, Brooklyn Tanner, and Wyatt Tanner; two great-grandchildren, Aleigha and Liam Plum; two sisters, Jackie (Bert) Hager and Vicki (Ronald) Stemple; brother-in-law, Gene (Marty) Weber; longtime friend, Barb Honsinger; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerry, and a daughter, Tracy Rethman.

The Weber family would like to express their deep gratitude to the team at All Valley Home and Hospice, especially Lori, Jessica, and Robert, for their compassionate care during Susan's final days.

Memorial Service: A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Kirk Abatelli officiating. In keeping with Susan's wishes, cremation has taken place.

Visitation: Friends and family are welcome to visit with the family on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Susan's memory may consider donations to the Shaw Cancer Center of Edwards, Colorado.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the church or through www.deislerfuneralhome.com.

Wendy, Shelly and Family: I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet mama. Thank you for allowing me to come into your lives and provide care and love to Sue at an intimate and delicate time of life. I will always remember how she would greet me so sweetly, "Hey there kiddo" every visit we had. I sure do love her and both of you. Praying that comfort and peace surround you and your families at this time. Much love to you all.

Wendy and Shelly.. Sending condolences to both of you and your families. Your mom definitely loved her family and loved babysitting her grandchildren. You are in my thoughts ar this difficult time. May God wrap his arms around you and keep you warm with memories of your mother. When Doug and I married, your mom and dad were the only couple we knew who were married. We would get together usually at their house on Alexander and watch tv together especially Peyton Place. Sue was an excellent bowler..the best one on our team. We were in a club together…we met once a month. We spent a lot of New Year Eves together…the one night we would get dressed up and go out. Sue and I would talk everyday analyzing our favorite soap opera Days of Our Lives trying to figure out what was going to happen ! Time passed I started working and Doug was on third shift 7 days a week. So we didn’t see many of our friends. Several years ago we started going out to dinner on Thursday nights…..Doug, Sue, Lynn Hickey and Bob and Judy Roe would join us. Then COVID arrived and we were stuck at home.☹️ I’ll always cherish my last conversation with your mom. We reminisced about the past..I’d mention something and Sue would smile her beautiful smile and agree. I did most of the talking. Rest in peace dear friend…you will be missed but your spirit will continue to live on in my heart. I know you are smiling … healthy and hugging Tracey and Gerry.
