He was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Floyd & Geneva Rhodes on April 20, 1943.
He was a husband to Marlene Rhodes.
He was (daddy, papie, & paw) to Pamela (Rodney) Parker, Rodney Rhodes, Margarette (Ricky) Stephens, Christopher Rhodes, and DoLinda Rhodes.
He was Grampa to Innetia Rhodes, Crystal (Theron) Bates, Brittany Stephens, Kija (Christopher) Akins, Lakkia (Ka'Ron) Cooper, Gabrielle Rhodes, Markeen Baker, Keterrian Price, and Christina (Franklin) Perez.
He was a Great-Grampa to twenty-two great-grandchildren.
He had seven siblings, four sisters; Evelyn (Eugene) Turner, Edith Collier, Linda Jean (Willie) Walton, and Donna Rhodes, and three brothers; Floyd Jr. (Emm) Rhodes, William (Frances) Rhodes, and James (Shirley) Rhodes.
He was papa to Latrina (Erric), Jayla, and Mya Poole.
He was a brother-in law.
He was a son-in-law.
He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was a great-uncle and a great great-uncle.
He was a cousin.
He was a Godfather to Felicia Harris.
He was a friend to many.
He was a member of GraceValley Church where he served faithfully.
He was very smart and intelligent.
He was respectful and respected.
He was poised and polished.
He could be funny at times; mostly he was a serious person who took care of his business.
His favorite pass time was golfing & watching golf on TV.
Last but certainly not least, he was a friend of GOD, a born again believer in JESUS CHRIST.
On Tuesday, December 24, 2024 he saw Jesus for the very first time. WOW… that had to be amazing. He met up with many that had gone before him. They welcomed him with open arms and he is happier than he had ever been. He decided to go on before us, but we know where he is and one day we will see him again.
FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Grace Valley Church, 4570 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, MI 48603.
