Gloria Colwell

Gloria Marion Colwell, age 95 of Saginaw, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Wellspring Sr. Living Campus, in Saginaw.

She was born August 19, 1929, to John and Katie Barko, in Ingersoll Township, Michigan.

Gloria married Roy A. Colwell on September 20, 1948, in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1985.

Gloria graduated from SS. Peter and Paul Catholic High School with the class of 1947. She then went on to attend Delta College. Throughout her life, she was employed as a legal secretary working for the office of Cicinelli, Mossner, Majoris and Alexander, from which she eventually retired. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed camping and golfing well into her 80's. Gloria also loved going to the casino and traveling with family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved children, Robert (Brenda) Colwell and Karen (Steve) Sheppard; grandchildren, Brian Colwell, Bridget (Roger) Merk and Thomas (Staci) Pflibsen, Joshua Sheppard and Amanda Sheppard; great grandchildren, Farrah, Rory and Holland Merk, Jayden, Trevan Cowell, Joshua Jr. and Caleb Sheppard; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Colwell; her parents; nine siblings, Julia, Elizabeth, Mary, Margaret, Steve, John, Francis, Carl and Louis.

Visitation for Gloria will take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss Street, Saginaw, MI 48602. Pastor Michael Korte will officiate.

Rite of committal will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, 7475 E. Holland Road, Saginaw, MI 48601.
