Wolter, Gilbert A. of Winter Haven, Florida formerly of Saginaw Township, Michigan.

Beloved father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Winter Haven Hospital with his family by his side. He was 93 years old. Gilbert A. Wolter was born on December 16, 1930, in St. Joseph, Michigan to the late William A. and Sophia (Nitz) Wolter. He graduated from St. Joseph High School. Gilbert proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service with the Army, Gilbert attended the University of Michigan and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Following graduation he met the love of his life, Sharon K. Lauer and they were united in marriage on June 27, 1964, in Saginaw; she preceded him in death on December 9, 2016. He owned and operated Hyde and Wolter, Consulting Engineers in Saginaw for almost 45 years with his dear friend and business partner James Hyde. Gilbert was a member of First Congregational Church for over 53 years, the American Legion and V.F.W.

Surviving are his daughter and two sons: Tari Shannon of Winter Haven, Florida, Russell (Jill) Wolter of Tampa, Florida, and Robert Wolter of Lincolnshire, IL; four grandchildren: Taylor Shannon, Jack Wolter, Claire Wolter and Joseph Wolter; and three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Sandra (Ron) Wiles, Jacqueline (James) Simpson, Joann Wolter and Mark (Sue) Lauer. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers: Vern and Marvin Wolter.

FUNERAL: In keeping with Gilbert's passion for the University of Michigan and sports the family requests you wear your favorite team attire for the Funeral Service that will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Rick Milks will officiate. Burial and Military Honors under the auspices of the United States Army and V.F.W. Post #1859 will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
