Our son, husband, father, brother, and friend passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Corewell Health Grand Rapids – Butterworth with his family by his side. He was 40 years old. Michael James Gray was born on December 31, 1983 in South Bend, Indiana to Steven and Connie (Persons) Gray. He married Tiffany Devine on April 30, 2011 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Michael attended Arthur Hill High School and continued his education at Palm Beach State College, earning an Associate Degree in Power Technology. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 2002 until 2006 and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After serving four years of active duty, he served another two years in the Army Reserves. Michael was employed by Win Waste Innovations as a manager. Michael was a member of Journey Church Lake Worth, FL for several years.
He loved watching college football, fishing, boating, and woodworking. Michael enjoyed completing wooden 3D puzzles, grilling, smoking meats, trying all kinds of new recipes, smoking different cigars, and sipping on bourbon. Above all, he loved his family, especially his daughter and his dog.
Surviving is his wife, Tiffany Gray; his daughter, Emma Gray; parents, Steven (Linda) Gray and Connie Poynter; siblings, Patrick Gray, Brendan (Pam) Gray, Abby Gray, and Lacy Gray, and one nephew, Matthew Gray.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Floyd Persons, Robert Gray, and Lauren Mertz.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Memorial Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Rd., Saginaw, MI 48638. Pastor Amy Terhune will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date at South Florida National Cemetery in Wellington, Florida.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
