Loving wife, mother, sister and friend passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Brian's House in Essexville. She was 78 years old. Sylvia Jeanne Miller was born on April 22, 1946 in St. Clair, Michigan to the late Arthur and Lillian (Morrow) Miller. She married Gerald “Jerry” Meyers on August 17, 1968 in Ludington, Michigan. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2020. Sylvia attended Ludington High School and continued her education at Central Michigan University earning her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education. She was employed by the Saginaw Public School system teaching K-5 for the majority of her career. She retired in 1999 after over 30 years. Sylvia was a past member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for many years.

She loved making rugs, cooking and baking. Sylvia enjoyed playing on the church co-ed volleyball team with her husband Gerald and her oldest son, Preston.

Surviving are her children, Preston Meyers, Kristian Meyers and his husband, Kyle Howard, and Devin Meyers and his wife, Twila York; grandchildren, Hailey and Ethan Howard; sister, Connie Miller; niece and nephews: Phoebe Afryie, Brishen Hoff and Abshir Miller

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; and brother, Stephen Miller.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Deisler Funeral Home 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Erik Schmidt will officiate. The committal service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
