Muñoz, Salvador “Sal”

Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on Thursday morning, June 6, 2024 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital. He was 66 years old. Salvador Muñoz was born on March 9, 1958 in Léon, Guanajuato, Mexico to Refugio and Antonia (Flores) Muñoz. He married Gloria Elvia Espinoza on February 2, 1982 in Saginaw, Michigan. Sal was employed by the Saginaw Country Club as a groundskeeper for 18 years. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Saginaw for many years.

He loved hunting, golfing, bowling, playing volleyball, and being a member of the church softball team. Sal also enjoyed camping, listening to music, and dancing. He really loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.

Surviving are his children, Miguel (Jessica) Muñoz and Analaura (Teodoro) Nieto; grandchildren, Kennedy, Oliver, Charlotte, David, Pablo, and Gema; six sisters and one brother all of Mexico; his father, Refugio; in-laws, Jesus and Lourdes Espinoza, and many nieces and nephews.

Salvador was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Gloria Muñoz, and his mother, Antonia Muñoz.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at St. Francis de Sales – St. Christopher Site, 3945 Williamson Road, Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will officiate. Cremation to follow the service.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a time of sharing from 7:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.

MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Muñoz family c/o Miguel Muñoz.

It saddens me to hear about Salvador passing. My deepest condolences to all his family and friends. I met Salvador when he first got here from Mexico. I helped him get one of his first jobs many years ago. I helped him and Gloria get ready for their wedding as they left the SER building. Oh my so many memories of these wonderful people. Salvador you are now in heaven with the love of your life ❤️ and with our heavenly father. You will always have a special place in my heart as one of the young men I helped when you arrived here. RIP mijo it's not adios but see you all later.
