Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away on February 21, 2024 at his residence with his family at his side. He was 76 years old. Jesus was born on June 17, 1947 in Saginaw, MI the son of Faustino and Ruperta (Gonzales) Torrez. He was united in marriage to Donna Mopavich on August 22, 1987; she survives him.

Jesus enjoyed drawing, singing the oldies, his chickens and rooster and tending to his garden. But most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Jesus will always be remembered for his big heart. He was always giving his harvest to everyone. Jesus was known to help anyone out that he could.

Jesus is survived by his loving wife, Donna (aka baby Huey by Jesus); his children; Marcos (Celia) Gomez, Jesus “Jay” Torrez and Jessica Torrez, grandchildren; Sylvia Gomez, Rafael Torrez, Jesus “Jay” Torrez, Ellieanna Torrez, Jaylah Torrez, Emiliano Torrez, Gino Torrez, Gabriel Gomez, Julian Torrez, Mia Gomez, Gino Torrez, Neveah Torrez and a grandson on the way, Luciano Torrez, a great-grandson due in April; Luca Gomez; siblings, Ricardo Torrez, Francisco (Lorraine) Torrez, Faustino (Maria Teresa) Torrez Jr., Consuelo (Roberto) Flores, Anita (Paulo) Rodriguez; sister in-law Sue Torrez, and many nieces and nephews.

Jesus was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, Daniel Torrez, Guadalupe Martinez, Ofelia (John) Elizalde, and Maria Elena Torrez.

The Torrez family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care and his brother and sister, Francisco Torrez and Anita Rodriguez for being with Jesus in his time of need.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Michael Steltenkamp will officiate. Committal service to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

MEMORIALS: Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider memorials to the Torrez family C/O Donna Torrez.

Brother Jessie Just want to say thank you for all what you did for me and the the Ramirez family.Came from Texas with the clothes on our back.I was blessed to come from a great family Tree the Gonzales,Torrez,Ortiz, Musquiz.Jessie took me in like I was his Brother that's just the way he is always looking out for someone else.Great Man,Great Cousin and Great Friend.I was lucky to be around him. Jesus worked with my dad at GM and they were great friends but with Jesus everyone was family! He called me "George" just like my father did, but I do not think he knew I had a real name, not George! lol! He took me, with his two nieces skating at the park in the winter and other adventures and was always full of laughter! (He sent me two tiny baby ducks for my birthday, and tumbling pigeons a time after that! I think he always was showing us his chickens! ), I was amazed that it seems he always took care of his entire family, he was always there for his brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces, parents, and anyone who stopped by. He was a kind soul and our family was so glad when he found his true love and had a family of his own as well! I know God has a special place for a man as kind to others as he was. Rest in Peace, Jesus.

I met Jesse over 40 years ago. I will never foget his smile and caring attitude towards other people. He left a imprint on all that he knew.
