Dorothy Harris

Harris, Dorothy E. of Saginaw, Michigan, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at her home. She was 95 years old. Dorothy was born on August 26, 1928 in Thurman, NY the daughter of late Arthur and Gertrude (Middleton) Curren, Jr. She married the love of her life, Norman J. Harris on December 30, 1956. They shared over 60 years together. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2017. Dorothy was a faithful and lifetime member of First Baptist Church (Beacon of Hope) and volunteered in many facets of the church. Dorothy was also an active volunteer at the Eleanor Frank Senior Center. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and church family; she will be dearly missed. One thing Dorothy will always be remembered for saying “God has been good to me and has always provided for me”.

Surviving are her two sons and one daughter: Tim (Susie) Harris, Michael Harris and Evelyn (James) Grinnell; 11 grandchildren: Daniel, Ben, Amy, Mackenzie, Katie, Dylan, Samantha, Amber, AJ, Austin and Jason; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Norman, Dorothy was preceded in death by 5 siblings; Arthur, Walter, Shirley, Amy and Raymond.

FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Rick Cunningham will officiate. Burial will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Garden.

VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
