Obituary

Kathleen V. Sharar comfortably passed away early Saturday morning, December 2, 2023 at Saginaw Senior Care and Rehab Center. She was born August 24, 1944 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Violet B. (Tapkin) Meyers. Kathy was a graduate of Saginaw High School, class of 1962. She was united in marriage with John Sharar on March 28, 1964 in Frankenmuth. She worked for the Saginaw Board of Education retiring in 2006. Family was very important to Kathy and she loved being a mother and especially cherished being a grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Tracy (Joey) Kendall, Timothy, and Todd Sharar; three grandchildren, Wesley and Mason Weisenberger and Jayden Sharar; siblings, Gene, Dennis, and Sharon. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Sharar, and siblings, Donald, David, William, Carol, Gary, Mary, and Judith.

In keeping with Kathy's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Tracy...I am so very sad to see that your mom has passed away. I didn't know she was no longer living at her home, or that her health was failing. I have so many memories when we were young at your house with your mom and dad. Your mom was always very good to me and gave me a lot of love and support throughout our teenage years and especially when my mom was sick and passing away. Your mom was a mother to me when I had no mother and supported me by sharing and attending many of my milestones and celebrations in my life. She was very special to me and I loved her very much. I am so sorry to know she is no longer here. Please get a hold of me on Facebook if and when you decide to have a service or a get together in honor of her. I would very much like to attend.
