Feldman, Ronald Barry

Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Friday evening, November 17, 2023 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. He was 86 years old. Ron was born in Bay City, Michigan on March 27, 1937 to the late Herman and Mary Feldman. They moved to Saginaw. He married Phyllis “Sandi” Hitow in Detroit, Michigan on March 1, 1970. They were married for 52 years. The last four years, Sandi was in a nursing home. Ron went every day to be with her, and feed her breakfast and lunch from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. She passed away on May 28, 2022.

Ron graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1955, he then continued his education at Bay City Junior College for two years, and graduated. He served in the United States Army for two years. He then worked at Daniel's Jewelry in Saginaw, which later became Zale's Jewelry for fifteen years as a salesman and assistant manager. Ron then worked at St. Lukes Hospital in Saginaw which later became Covenant Healthcare Hospital for twenty five years as a patient care associate (PCA). He also worked for A&D Home Care for several years.

He was past president of Saginaw's B'nai B'rith Lodge #636. He and his wife Sandi were members of Temple Beth Israel. Surviving are his son Brian (Tina) Feldman and his daughter Amy Feldman; grandchildren, Caleb, Andrew, Joshua, and Matthew.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State). Rabbi Dorit Edut will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hebrew Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan.

VISITATION: The Feldman family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of their choice.

My condolences to Ron's family. I worked at Covenant with Ron. He was always there to help anyone in need. He was caring, gentle, thoughtful and sweet. His devotion to his lovely wife, was a love letter to all who cared to see. The world is a much poorer place without Ron. He was one-of- a-kind!

I worked with Ron at St Luke's Hospital which later became Covenant for several years. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and even took care of me after a serious accident when I was a patient on the orthopedic unit. Such a good man! May he rest in peace in heaven.

I only knew him for a short time, but Mr. Feldman had a wonderful sense of humor. He was always ready to share a laugh or tell stories of old Detroit over the fudge he would make for the minyan every week. He was a good man and will be missed.

I enjoyed chatting with Ron after Friday night shabbat services in Saginaw where he was a regular attendee for many years. He always made sure to bring his yummy chocolate fudge to share. He was always friendly, and enjoyed interacting with others. He will be missed. Miriam Schteingart Light
