Obituary

Stephen Mark Henderson, beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. He was 72. Mark was born January 31, 1951 in Saginaw, the son of Gwen (Minnis) Henderson. He attended Arthur Hill High School before enlisting in the United States Army in 1968. Mark served in Germany during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1972. Once he returned home, Mark enrolled at Delta College and began working as a CNC machinist. He had a passion for music and played several instruments with his band Stuart Little. Mark enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Detroit Lions fan. He had a tremendous sense of humor and always loved a good joke. Family was important to Mark as he always looked forward to reunions and family gatherings. More than anything, he was a devoted father whose commitment to his children and their various activities was unwavering.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Gwen Henderson; children, Stephen (Randi) Henderson and Krista Henderson; granddaughter, Logan Wood; siblings, Patrick Henderson, Randy Henderson, Karen Shinevar, and Julie (Bill) Pohlman; and many nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his beloved sister Janice Marden.

FUNERAL: Memorial services will take place at 12 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State Street).

VISITATION: Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Stephen's family through the care of his son Stephen Henderson.

"Mark" is how I've always known him as. A sweet cousin who had a sparkle in his bright eyes, whenever he smiled. I'll miss seeing him at the family reunions.
