Loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at HealthSource Saginaw, he was 86 years old. Gerald Franklin Larson was born on November 18, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Anton and Alice (Swartz) Larson. He married Judith Emma Brethauer on May 20, 1961 in Saginaw, Michigan. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Gerald was employed by Saginaw Steering Gear as a Machine Operator, retiring in 1996 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles Club and the Moose Club for several years.
Gerald was an avid horseshoe player. He loved playing golf. He also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and bowling with his wife. But, what Gerald really loved most was spending time with his family.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary (Al) Schocknesse, Lisa (Brian) Wray, and Holli (David) Worden; grandchildren, Lauren (Ben) Sherwood, Chelsie (Adam) Bli, Andrew Worden, Alexandria Wray, Rachel Worden, and Zachary Worden; great-grandchildren, Kaiden Sherwood, Benjamin Sherwood, and Jaxon Bli, and many nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Larson; one brother, Neils Larson.
FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). A Committal service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Chaplain Lonnie Severance will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps and VFW Post # 1859.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
