Marcello Najar

Marcello Javier Najar, loving father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away Saturday August 5, 2023 at his home. He was 43 years old. Marcello was born June 28, 1980 in Saginaw, son of the late David Reyes Najar and Margaret Carmona. He attended Buena Vista Schools where he made many friends. Marcello was a good man and loved people. He enjoyed sitting with family and friends on Saturdays listening to Mexican music on the radio. Marcello was a tremendous cook and enjoyed every minute of it. His favorite pastime was cracking open a cold one and just having a good time. He had an amazing sense of humor and will truly be missed by all those who knew him.

Marcello is survived by his son, Carmelo Daprince Najar and his mother, Polanda Bennett; siblings, David (Casey) Najar, Jeremiah Najar, Robert (Shayna) McGeshick, Johnathan McGeshick, and Sarah McGeshick; nieces and nephews, Arianna, Austin, Donathan, Izic, Brayden, Owen, Noah, Nevaeh, Davien, Annalycia, Layce, Jeremiah, Angel, Bella, Caden, Shaylyn, Greyson, and Alexander; aunts and uncles, Paul (Mary) Najar, Elizabeth DelaCruz, and Cleo Najar; special cousins, Freddie, Yvonne, Jolene, Xavier, Lorenzo, Margaret, Max, Javier, JR, PJ, Alonzo, and so many more; girlfriend, Ella Johnson; and special friends, Jamiece, Maurice, Swill, Tay, Neifa, Quincy “Q”, and numerous others on the block along with his best friend Jefe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Javier “Toro” and Margaret Najar; aunts and uncles, Xavier “Chico” Najar, Terry Najar, Mark Najar, and Nicholas DelaCruz; and Godmother Anna “Mama” Baber.

FUNERAL: A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Marcello's house, 3433 Harold Street, Saginaw, MI 48601.
