Marie McKenna

McKenna, Marie Lucy, 80 passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 4, 2023 at St. Francis Nursing Home. Marie was born December 3, 1942 in Saginaw, MI the daughter of Leonard and Lucy (Respondeck) Benkert. Marie was united in marriage to Joseph McKenna, Jr. on August 3, 1974, Saginaw, MI; he preceded her in death in 2002. She enjoyed gardening; especially her flowers and doing crossword puzzles. But most of all, Marie had a very strong faith and was a long-time member of Christ the Good Shepherd, formerly known as St. Helen Catholic Church.

Marie is survived by her children, Elizabeth McKenna and Gregory (Lauren Kohrumel) McKenna, sisters, Joanne Reinig, Agnes Zervan; brothers, Leo (Christiane) Benkert, Ralph (Gail) Benkert, John (Reni) Benkert and Virgil Benkert. Besides her husband Joseph, Marie was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Snyder and two brothers, Dennis and Mark Benkert.

FUNERAL: The Funeral Liturgy for Marie will take place on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from Christ the Good Shepherd (St. Helen Site), 2445 N. Charles St. Saginaw, MI 48602 with Rev. Fr. Richard John to officiate. Committal services to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the church Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
