Passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 4, 2023 at Bavarian Comfort Care in Bridgeport. She was 98 years old. Ella B. Rice was born on September 7, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Morris C. and Charlotte F. (Owen) Rice. She married Norman J. Anklam on June 30, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1994. Ella was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Saginaw for many years.
She loved spending time outside working in her yard. Ella also enjoyed fishing and gardening. But, what she really loved most was spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Nancy Pierce, Kenneth (Monica) Anklam, and Randy (Jean) Anklam; nine grandchildren, Kevin (Pam) Pierce, Pam (Richard) Osborn, Valerie (Tod) McCloy, Julie Anklam, Jennifer Anklam, Adam (Meagan) Anklam, Bryan Anklam, Steven Anklam, and Brenda (Trevor) Howell; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; one brother, Richard Rice, and many nieces and nephews.
Ella was preceded in death by her son in-law, Gary Pierce; brothers, Morris E. (Ruth) Rice and Gary Rice; sister in-law, Carlene Rice.
In keeping with Ella's wishes, a private burial has taken place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
