Gary Scott Devos, 60, of Saginaw, our kind, fun-loving, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend who was so young at heart, enjoyed the simple things in life and the love of his family, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack while shoveling snow on January 29, 2023. Gary was born in Saginaw, Michigan on January 22, 1963 to the late Michael J. and Geraldine C. (McDonald) Devos, and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Central Michigan University and had so many wonderful memories of being a “Chip”. He enjoyed the annual family tradition of vacationing at Wandawood Resort at Elk Lake for 49 years and the annual golfing weekend at Grand Traverse Resort.
Gary leaves behind his brothers and sisters: Tim (Jan) Devos, Debbie Terrasi, Steve (Lisa) Devos, and Laurie (Dave) Miller; his nieces and nephews: Matthew (Christie) Devos, Becky (Tyson) Beaver, Michael (Zoya) Terrasi, Lisa (Paul) Doupe, Stefanie (Jesse) Santee, Lindsay Devos, Josh (Jordan) Miller, and Megan Miller who will deeply miss hearing the many nicknames given to them by their Uncle Gary. He is also survived by his aunts: Phyllis and Barbara McDonald; and many extended family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Geraldine and Michael Devos.
SERVICE: In keeping with Gary's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service for Gary will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastoral Associate Tori Little will officiate.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 p.m.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
