Robert Arthur Zill

Passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Barton Woods Assisted Living in Freeland, he was 85 years old. Robert was born October 28, 1937 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Roland and Clara (Kohn) Zill. He married Patricia on January 10, 1981; she preceded him in death in 2020. He was employed by the State of Michigan as a Case Worker, retiring after more than 20 years of service. Robert was a faithful and active member of Resurrection Lutheran Church for many years. He was an avid golfer, bowler and also enjoyed woodworking and the arts. Robert was very proud to have been inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Christina Zill, Todd Zill and Penny (Jeffrey) Meacham; step-children, Katherine (Richard Mitchell) Lilliestierna, Jon (Diane) Lilliestierna and James Lilliestierna; grandchildren, Jasson Wardin, Trisha (James) Knezek, Samantha (Jon) Ratski, Shane (Shawna) Ruyts, Miranda (Cyle) Heyd, Nicholas Meacham, Adam Zill, Karston (Misty) Mitchell, Brandon (Hillary) Mitchell, Kelly (TJ) Hudson, Krystle (Travis Taylor) Lilliestierna, Kara (Nick Henry) Lilliestierna and Noble (Shannon) Lilliestierna; 24 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Sue Hadd and Marti Zill.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, son, David Zill and two brothers and two sisters, Mary Zill, Donald Zill, Marlene Ernest and Gerald Zill.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Deisler Funeral Home with Pastor John Soyster to officiate. Committal service to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw, Michigan.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Parkinson's Association.
