Ortega, David Roy age 76 passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 30, 2022. David was born on September 16, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of the late Guadalupe and Carlota (Ayala) Ortega. After graduation from high school David went on to work for Question Mark & the Mysterians as their Road Manager in the hayday. He then went on to continue his education at MSU receiving a Bachelor's and Master's Degree and then continued at Cooley Law School; while working at the State Capital. David owned and operated Saginaw Limousine Co. for several years and also did electrical work. He was also a member the St. Demetrius Greek Orthodox Church. David will be remembered as a person who either loved all the way, or disliked all the way. Some would say he was a “real Character”. He will also be remembered a being very proud to be born and raised in Saginaw and a huge MSU fan. He will be dearly missed.

David is survived by his brother: Joseph (Donna) Ortega of Indiana, two nephews: Ty (Kim) Kempf of Washington and Logan Kempf of Hawaii and two great-nephews; Loddi and Kius Kempf of Washington.

FUNERAL: Funeral Services for David will take place on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State St.) Pastoral Associate Sharon Wahl to officiate.

VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.

A Limb Fallen A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says "Grieve not for me." Remember the good times, the laughter the song. The good life I lived when I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul at rest. Remembering all, how truly I was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don't stare at the wall. I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes, we're together again. Gonna miss you ,cuz.....you always made it a point to come and visit or do lunch when we came to town....or harass us by phone when the football game was on (haha). Love ya always

I was so sorry to hear this news. I just had about an hour conversation with him, a couple of weeks ago, sitting at the bar at White's. I always enjoyed our conversations, although I don't think we agreed politically, but that was okay. Rest in Peace, my friend.
