Gregory “Greg” Arciniega

Brooklyn, New York formerly of Saginaw, MI

Gregory Arciniega, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2022 at his home in Brooklyn, NY. Gregory L. Arciniega was born August 11, 1959 in Saginaw to the late George and Mary (Cardona) Arciniega. He graduated from Bridgeport High School and Western Michigan University. Greg moved to Brooklyn after college and worked in art, theater, film and production, and continued to study at NYU Film and HB Studio. He also enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach where he enjoyed golfing. Greg was a fan of sports and enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and the Red Wings. He loved his family and made many dear friends throughout his very full and active life.

Gregory is survived by his siblings: Robert (Cheri) Arciniega, Thomas (Chelo) Arciniega, Kristine (Jack) Mendoza and Andrew (Donna) Arciniega, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and three aunts: Abby Chavez, Gloria Cardona and Mary Lou Morris.

GATHERING: In keeping with Greg's wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 3:00 until 8:00 PM.

I'm sorry to hear about Greg. He was always such a cheerful person. If he ever had a bad day, I never saw it. When we were in high school, he called me, Bernie, after some hockey goalie with a French sounding last name. I never knew why he called me Bernie but it wasn't mean or insulting. In fact he was always kind and generous. One time I saw him at Ojibwe Island while he was home from college. I was so impressed to see him driving a Porsche 914. He let me take it for a drive. I thought Porsches were supposed to be fast, but it was the most sluggish car I'd ever driven. When I got back to the park, he ran up to the car, looked in and said, "Damn! I left the parking brake on!"
