Obituary
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 10, 2020 at her home. She was 97 years old. Maria was born December 19, 1924 in San Benito, Texas the daughter of Teodoro and Gregoria (Villarreal) DeLeon. She married the love of her life, Cesario Huerta on May 13, 1946 in Edinburg, Texas; he preceded her in death on January 10, 2020. Maria was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for many years and Guadalupanas Society; St Joseph's Parish. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and embroidering. Maria was a great cook and enjoyed cooking whenever she had the time. But most of all Maria loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be dearly missed.Surviving are children, Dora (Robert) Ruiz of Burt, MI, Rosalinda Martinez of Saginaw, MI, Maria Alvear of Grand Prairie, TX, Daniel (Gilda) Huerta of Saginaw, MI, Eddieberto (Carol) Huerta of Killeen, TX, and Diane Regalado of Saginaw, MI; 28 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Abelina Huerta, San Juana Rodriguez, Stella Lucio and Olivia De La Garza, three brothers, Gilbert (Chris), Tony (Kathy) and Ramiro DeLeon and many nieces and nephews.Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Cesario Sr.; sons, Gilbert (2017) and Cesar Jr. (2016); granddaughter, Stephanie Cozzolino; sister, Ameli Ybarra, two brothers, Ted Jr. and Samuel DeLeon.FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at the St. Francis of Assisi – St. Anthony of Padua Site, 3680 S. Washington Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Rev. Fr. Alberto Vargas will officiate. Rite of Committal to follow at 2:00 p.m. in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the church on Friday, January 15, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Due to the rise of Covid-19 family is requesting for you to wear a mask while visiting with them.MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.Deisler Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Huerta family; condolences may be expressed to the family at the church or by visiting www.DeislerFuneralHome.com
