Obituary
Loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was 65 years old. Gregory Paul Jahn was born on June 12, 1956 in Livonia, Michigan to Gerald and Maureen (Maultry) Jahn. He married Jill Bailey on October 16, 1982 in Saginaw, Michigan. Gregory attended the University of Utah for his undergraduate studies and Cooley Law School, earning a Juris Doctorate. Gregory was employed by Jay Trucks & Associates, PC as an attorney, retiring after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Saginaw County Bar Association, past president and board member of the Michigan Defense Trial Council, and a member of the Saginaw Country Club for many years.
Gregory loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed water skiing and downhill skiing. But, what Gregory really loved most was spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Jill; children, Eric (Lawrence) Stallsmith-Jahn and Kristy (Jake) Mandel; grandchildren, Sloan and Claire; parents, Gerald and Maureen Jahn; siblings, Jennifer Jahn and Brian (Aileen) Jahn, and many nieces and nephews.
Gregory was preceded in death by his grandparents.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State). Pastor Rob Richards will officiate.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Due to the current health concerns, the Jahn family requests that all visitors wear a mask.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Outward Bound (Outdoor Courses for Grieving Teens) or The Ronald McDonald House Charities in Ann Arbor.

I am so very sorry for your loss. To say Greg was a great man is an understatement. I had the pleasure of working beside him for the last 10 years and I can't express how much it was a privilege to watch him and learn from him. He took a young guy like me fresh out of law school under his wing and taught me so much. I couldn't have asked for a better mentor. He was a great attorney, but an even better person and I am so grateful for his friendship. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

I can't begin to tell you just how stunned I was to learn today that Greg had passed away. I had no idea he had been sick. It's hard for me to wrap my head around!!
I have a lot of great memories with you, Greg and your entire family after all of the years of skiing together. For sure I enjoyed all the years I was able to ski with Greg and the rest of the crazy down south Nub's crew. It is by far and away the best memories I have of skiing, including going out west! Greg was always fun to be around and his sense of humor at times brought tears to my eyes! He was the one guy who could throw a real zinger at you and you would still laugh at it even if he was dissing you!! He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. I know for a fact that no matter how many years I may not have seen Greg I knew if I walked up to him he and I would start talking as if we had just spoken last week.
I'm so,so sorry for your loss. I hope you all are doing as well as you can during this incredibly tough time.
