Mocny, Richard “Dick”
Saginaw, Michigan Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 1, 2021 and he was greeted in heaven with open arms by his wife, Nancy and his heavenly Father. He was 85 years old. Richard Michael Mocny was born on July 8, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Casimir and Ruth (Heindel) Mocny. He graduated from Holy Rosary Catholic High School in 1954. Dick married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Ann Myczkowiak on October 5, 1957 at St. Rita Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2021. Dick was employed by General Motors in Plant Protection and retired after many years of loyal and dedicated service. He was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church for many years. Dick will be remembered for his generous spirit, meticulous yard, exceptionally clean, shiny cars and organized garage. His “Mr. Fix It” attitude and willingness to help family with projects was outstanding. Dick's greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends, family vacations and dancing with his beautiful wife.
He is survived by his children: Linda (Mark) Proux, Catherine (Robert) Greif and Janene (Ronald) Agin; grandchildren: Trisha (Jason) Kocinski, Scott (Kari) Proux, Christopher Greif (Sage Whyte), Melissa (Jason) Jaremba, Nicolas (Katie) Agin and Jacob Agin (Taylor Reidel); great grandchildren: Delilah Kocinski, Parker and Hudson Proux, Connor Greif, Ellianna and Selah Whyte and Emma Jaremba; twin brother, Robert (Marge) Mocny; brother in-law, Albert (Barbara) Myczkowiak, and many dear nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy; brother, James (Donna) Mocny and brother in-law, Robert (Helen) Myczkowiak.
FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw, MI 48609. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Rite of Committal to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Spirit Catholic Church – Building Fund or Cardinal Hospice.

We will always remember Mr. Mocny's kindness and his care for helping us and having the leadership to see that it was done the correct way. We lived next door to Dick/Nancy's daughter, Linda. He heard were putting in a pool and offered sincerely to help. And help he did. With his great instructions he lead our crew to great success. That pool lasted through our kids childhood, teen and young adult years. Many youth group and family friends so enjoyed gathering to eat some food and swim. Mr. Mocny.... you blessed us so much. We always loved visiting with Dick and Nancy when we had an opportunity. You leave a beautiful family behind with a lot of your wonderful attributes, much like yours. Sending Love and Prayers to all of the family. May you find comfort in all of the beautiful and precious memories. Peace Be With You All !!!
