Obituary
Gutierrez, Sara age 82 passed away peacefully Sunday, May 16, 2021 with her family by her side. Sara was born March 25, 1939 in Monclova, Mexico the daughter of the late Marcial and Sebastiana Montelongo. She was united in marriage to Samuel Gutierrez on November 20, 1953 in Mexico; he preceded her in death on October 29, 1984.
Sara retired after working for more than 30 years as a custodian at the Carrollton Public School District. She looked forward to the summers; where she could always be found working in her award winning flower gardens. She will also be remembered for her cooking, keen eye for fashion, dancing and being a prankster. Sara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was always laughing and fun to be around.
Sara is survived by her children, Hilario Gutierrez, Maria (Pedro) Ortiz, Samuel (Christina) Gutierrez, Jose Gutierrez, Marcial Gutierrez, Sara (James) Robar and Elias (Shannon) Gutierrez many numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Sara was preceded in death by a son Martin A. Gutierrez, a grandson, Martin J. Gutierrez and several brothers and sisters.
FUNERAL: A private funeral service for Sara will take place Friday, May 21, 2021 from Deisler Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Friday, May 21, 2021 from 9:00 am until 11:00 a.m.
MEMORIALS: In Lieu of flowers, those wishing to do a memorial contributions are asked to consider Compassus Hospice.
