Brett Rivers

Rivers, Brett Lee Carrollton, Township Loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021, he was 28 years old. Brett was born December 30, 1992 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Jerry Lynn Rivers and Belynda Rivers. He married Johnna Cheney on November 9, 2019 in Saginaw, Michigan. Brett attended Davenport University and Delta College, earning an Associate's Degree. He was employed by Progressive Group Installers. Brett was a member of the Labor Union. He loved playing disc golf with his brother Brandon and liked playing basketball. Brett also enjoyed playing his PlayStation 4 and participating in Madden tournaments. He loved spending time with his nephew Aidan. He was known for going to his mom's house just to have dinner. But, what he really loved most was playing outside with his fur baby, Princess and taking naps with his wife. Surviving are his wife, Johnna Rivers; mother, Belynda (Jerry Wegner) Rodriguez; siblings, Brandon (Morgan) Rivers, Hannah (Amado) Martinez-Gomez, Chris (Bobbye) Rodriguez, Heather (Markus) Givens, and Amanda (Elvis) Grace; mother in-law, Sheila Cheney; sisters in-law Stephanie (Caleb) Joles and Tiffanie (Ruben) Vaiz; nephews, Aidan, Mason, Logan; nieces, Emma, Madison, Elliana, and Calliope. Brett was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Rivers and his great-grandmother, Ivy Marie Henry. FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). In keeping with the family's wishes, cremation will follow the service. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In keeping with mandated ordinances and for the safety of the community, face masks are required, social distancing and gathering limits will be observed.
