Obituary
OPPERMANN, Craig Andrew, age 60, of Saginaw, MI, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 surrounded by his devoted wife and loving family due to complications from his nearly thirty-year battle with multiple sclerosis. Craig was well known for his infectious laugh and gift of gab, always making everyone around him feel warm and welcome. Craig was a long-time Civil War history buff and traveled the United States over the years to stand in countless Civil War reenactments. Craig had the pleasure of being a film extra for Civil War motion pictures such as Gettysburg and Glory. Craig's love and knowledge for history afforded him the opportunity to guest lecture at Delta College, which was an accomplishment he was very proud of.
Craig was an enthusiastic person with a love for life, he thoroughly enjoyed live concerts and listening to his favorite band Rush, attending drag races across the Midwest with his wife, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Oppermann; daughter, Rachel Long (Larry); son, Josh Oppermann (Jenna); stepdaughter Stacey Gauthier (Jessica); stepson Brook Gauthier; grandchildren Nathan, Isaac, Remi; brothers Scott Oppermann (Debbie); Matt Oppermann (Sue); James Oppermann (Courtney); and his beloved beagle Brutus.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents John and Catherine Oppermann and nephew Kevin.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State).
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.
In keeping with mandated ordinances and for the safety of the community, face masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
