Dale Sharkey

Sharkey, Dale Edward passed away peacefully on April 6, 2021 at his home. He was 75 years old. Dale Edward Sharkey was born on December 6, 1945 in Saginaw to the late Louis Norman and Betty Ann Marie (Marcoux) Sharkey. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School. Dale proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps, receiving many medals and accolades. He married the love of his life Maureen (Neath) Moore on January 18, 1974 in Saginaw, she preceded him in death on May 7, 2015. Dale worked at Grey Iron Foundry before retiring after 50 years. An avid hunter and fisherman Dale enjoyed spending his free time outdoors. He proudly won the Shiver on the River ice fishing contest in 1996 and bagged his 100th buck in 2019. Dale was a creative man who loved to tinker. He was a giving man who was loved by all who met him. Dale is survived by his children: Melanie (Sharkey) (Brad) Friemoth, Melissa (Moore) Sprague and Brad (Jennifer) Moore; grandchildren: Brandon, Hunter, RaeAnn, Jordyn, Aaron, Lauren, and Macy; great grandson: Keith Dennis; brother, Don Sharkey; special brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and his special furry friend, Mindy. Dale was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dennis Sprague Jr. Dale's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Covenant Hospice, his brother, Don and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Dave and Mary Genske. SERVICE: In keeping with Dale's wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, 7475 E Holland Rd, Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps and V.F.W. Post #1859. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In keeping with mandated ordinances and for the safety of the community, face masks are required, social distancing, and gathering guidelines will be observed.
