Barbara Kirby

Kirby, Barbara J. James Township, MI Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2021 at her home. She was 78 years old. Barbara Jane Eckstorm was born on June 22, 1942 in Saginaw to the late William and Betty (Rogers) Eckstorm. Barb graduated from Arthur Hill High School. She married Donald Max Kirby on November 18, 1960 in Saginaw at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, he preceded her in death on April 25, 2020. Together Don and Barb raised their four children in the Saginaw Community, and Barb was always there to support her children during their activities. She also worked as a CNA for a variety of different healthcare groups throughout Saginaw. Barb enjoyed spending her day crafting making many blankets and wreaths for her family and friends. But, what she loved most was spending time with her family and all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Harley. Surviving are her children, Mary Ann (Jeff) Rosser, Donald (Kristi) Kirby, and Todd (Kris) Kirby; grandchildren, William (Christina), Brandon (Andrea), Corbin, Tyler, Kaleb, Starr, Sarah (Jeff), and Melissa; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marge (Bob) Krzyzaniak and Kay Eckstorm; brothers-in-law, William (Theresa) and Raymond Kirby and Edward Leddy; sister-in-law, Tanis Kirby, and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kirby; her daughter, Jacqueline Turner; sister, Gloria (Jim) Cole; her sisters-in-law, Margaret Kirby Leddy and Mary Ann Kirby; two brothers-in-law, Richard and Max Kirby. MEMORIAL SERVICE: In keeping with Barbara's wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no services planned at this time. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Humane Society of Saginaw County.
