Obituary
Wells, Sheila Mae Durand, Michigan Sheila Mae Wells "Shay" was a woman of faith, loved her family fiercely, had a strong work ethic and was amazing in the kitchen. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, January 7, 2021, at the age of 87 at the Durand Senior Care Center in Durand, Michigan. She was born on April 29, 1933 in Marmaduke, Arkansas to the late Mack and Allie (Cribbs) Bolen. She married "Hank" Henry George Wells, and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2017, Shay was blessed with a large and loving family and spent many summers at Herring Lake, Big Platte Lake and Lake Michigan. Shay has left her family with many memories from the old farmhouse, and is forever cherished by her daughter Leesa, and three sons; Mark (Stacy) Wells, Kent (Pam) Wells and Jay Wells; seven grandchildren: Christopher (Alisha) Wells, Jessica (Jeffery) Larsen, Emily (Neil) Stokes, Elizabeth Wells, Alena Annarelli, Alexander Wells and Joshua Wells; nine great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She also had many friends whom she also loved deeply. Shay was preceded in death by her husband, Hank; daughter, Leesa, who passed away in January of 2014; her brother, James (Geneva) Bolen; sister, Clema Jean "Tim" (Arlan) Trantham; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Millard (Jean) Wells and Addie (Elton) Leix. Shay was the light of our family and the lessons she taught will be carried within our family: Cherish every moment. Never forget your roots. Hold your little ones and play with them every chance you get. Don't underestimate the power of a hand written note. Practice makes better. Keep stirring, don't be distracted while making caramel. Sing a happy song. Stop and smell the roses. Savor every bite. A joint Memorial Service will be planned a later date for Shay and Hank. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), Saginaw, Michigan, 48603. I remember Mr. and Mrs. Wells and family from Seneca Street in Flint during the 1960s. My brother Joe was friends with Jay. In my memory, Mrs. Wells always had a smile on her face. Please accept my sincere sympathy at her passing.

I am Debbie Estep oldest daughter to Joann and Leon Bolen. I remember going to family reunions and/or a funeral for someone and Sheila would be there, I remember her as a wonderful, extremely nice lady. I am saddened by her passing but i see she lived a long great life and left many great memories for her family. I will always remember her and her
kindness. Glad she was my family.
