Abel Mendoza

Mendoza, Jr. Abel Juan of Saginaw passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the age of 23 years. Abel was born October 21, 1997 in Elkhart, IN the son of Abel Mendoza Sr. and Alicia Hanskett. He graduated from Heritage High School in 2014 and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Marines; honorary discharged in January of 2020. Abel enjoyed playing pool and video games. He also enjoyed staying very fit by working out regularly. Abel had a kind heart, was very witty, generous and was a very loving person. He will be missed dearly. Abel is survived by his parents; Abel Mendoza Sr. and Alicia Hanskett, sister; Brianna Mendoza, maternal grandparents; John and Teresa Hanskett, paternal grandmother; Adela Mendoza, two uncles; John (Aurelia) Hanskett and Eric Hanskett and three cousins; Johnny, Alena and Ashley. Abel was preceded in death by his grandfather, Abel S. Mendoza. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Abel will take place Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM from Sheridan Rd. Baptist Church, 6911 Sheridan Rd., Saginaw MI 48601 with Dr. Lou Jurva to officiate. Burial to conclude with honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2020 and again at the church Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
