Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at his home. He was 84 years old. Joseph Stanulis, Jr. was born on September 25, 1936 in Saginaw, to the late Joseph S. and Mary Ellen (Geigerle) Stanulis. He proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps. Joe married Katherine L. Lawler on October 26, 1957, she survives him. Joe retired from Auto Owners Insurance Company. He enjoyed golfing, playing poker, dancing and traveling. Joe was a longtime member and Usher of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed dearly. Surviving is the love of his life for over 63 years, Katherine L. Stanulis, of Bridgeport; two daughters and two sons: Laura E. Johnson of Saginaw, Joseph M. (Lin) Stanulis, of Freeland, Mark V. (Lori) Stanulis of Vassar and Kathy M. Penny of Bloomfield Hills; grandchildren: Katherine (Tyler) Blair, Anthony Johnson, Jessica Stanulis, Ashley Stanulis, Joey (Ngan) Stanulis, Jacob Stanulis and Nathan Penny; and three great grandsons, Hue Blair, Vincent Ka'aumoana and Leon Stanulis. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven M. Stanulis. FUNERAL: A private graveside service will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Deacon Roger Passionek to officiate. Military honors to follow under the auspices of the United States Marines and the VFW Post #1859. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those wishing to give a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Saginaw Rescue Mission or a memorial of your choosing. Uncle Joe was the best. He always had a ready hug for me, and one of the brightest and cheeriest smiles that shined right through his eyes too. My heart breaks for your loss... Dear Family,
For years I would see Joe every morning get a coffee at McDonald's where I worked. He would say good morning every time I saw him at work. He will be missed at work. Not seeing him in the morning this year has not been the same. My prayers are with you.

My memories are many… As kids Spending Thanksgiving at the Stanulis house in Bridgeport, was always fun! Hanging out with my cousins, and getting into trouble!
As we all grew older... Every time I went to a family function, I remember uncle Joe always treating me like I was the only guy in the room when he saw me...his big deep voice , firm handshake saying "John Lawler" "how the heck are you?" will be missed but never forgotten. So sorry that I cannot be there to morn with you all in person...My heart felt thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt Kay , Joey, Lori, Mark and Kathy And all the other grand children and spouses. Rest in peace uncle Joe.
