Obituary
Helen P. Wohlfeil of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on December 5, 2020 while a resident at Covenant Glen in Frankenmuth, Michigan. She was 92 years old. Helen was born in Freeland, Michigan to the late Paul and Hildreth Block. She met and married William F. Wohlfeil; they were married for 65 years; Bill proceeded her in death in 2012. Bill and Helen owned Wohlfeil Electric for over 30 years until their retirement in 1984. Helen and Bill enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and many foreign countries. After retirement, Helen, spent many hours with her husband crafting toys and furniture for their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed oil painting, and provided family and friends with her beautiful pictures. Helen was preceded in death by her three sisters: Marjorie Wackerly, Arlene Beach, and Della Scherzer. Helen and Bill were members at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Saginaw, Michigan. Surviving Helen are two daughters: Paula Braddy and Jackie Bushway; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Grammy (as she was known to her grandchildren), will be missed by many, especially during this Christmas season. Helen's Christmas wish was that she join her husband in the arms of her Lord. That wish was granted. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). There are no services planned at this time. Thank you for sharing Helen and Bill with us. They stood in as local grandparents for us as we lived far from our family. Our shared interests of travel and camping made for a perfect match. Helen's artistic expression was an inspiration. Bill's electrical skills were probably actually life savers. And their regular presence in the front right pew at Good Shepherd was an important reminder as to what really was important.
Although the last few years were difficult for Helen, we still appreciated her sense of humor, interest in our lives and activities, and even a bit of flirting.
While this page is to be "about" Helen, we cannot separate Bill and Helen. We still see them walking arm in arm at a rather brisk pace - inseparable. We miss them both.

So sorry for your loss. Helen was special to all us younger people, Stark family, Barlow family and the Brandt family. We all met Helen and Bill as young married couples and neighbors. They shared and set examples regarding their faith, marriage, respect, and family and friendship. We made many camping memories, spaghetti dinners, Bavarian Inn dining, Christmas cookies and coffee! My recipes include many handwritten by Helen. My Christmas decorations... made by Bill's talent with wood working and painted by Helen! We are truly blessed. Our lives are better because of Helen.
