Barbara Hansen

Hansen, Barbara L. of Saginaw, Michigan Formerly of Bay City, Michigan Passed away on November 26, 2020. She was 76 years old. Barbara Glocksine was born on April 27, 1944 in Bay City to Robert and Peggy (Bialy) Glocksine. She married Charles A. Hansen on November 30, 1968 at Madison Avenue United Methodist Church in Bay City; he survives her. Barbara graduated from Bay City Central High School, class of 1962. She then went on to attend and graduate from Albion College in 1966 where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Barbara was employed by Douglas MacArthur High School as an English teacher and later worked as a substitute teacher in Saginaw Township. She was a member of State Street United Methodist Church in Saginaw and later Four Points United Methodist Church in Swan Valley. Surviving are her loving husband of almost 52 years Charles, her children Heidi (Scott) Henry, and Gretchen (Tony) Jablonski, her four grandchildren Madeline Henry, Christian Henry, Adrienne Jablonski, and Allison Jablonski. She is also survived by her sister in law Andrea (Jerry) Meyer, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a bright strong woman who enjoyed time at Silver Lake Sand Dunes with her many friends and family and time on Mackinac Island. She loved to watch her granddaughters dance and her grandson play the piano. She was an avid knitter and bowled on several leagues with her husband and friends. She loved and spoiled her basset hound and dachshund. She will be remembered by her love for her family which was the most important thing to her. FUNERAL: Private services for Barbara will take place at 1:30 Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Deisler Funeral Home. Entombment to follow in Oakwood Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm. In keeping with mandated ordinances and for the safety of the community, face masks are required, social distancing, and gathering guidelines will be observed.
