Sally Stimson

Stimson, Sally A. Fort Collins, CO formerly of Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend passed away peacefully on Monday, November 9, 2020 at her daughter's home in Ft. Collins, CO. She was 90 years old. Sally A. Pierce was born to the late Forrest and Irene A. (Hendryx) Pierce on September 19, 1930 in Kalamazoo, MI. She attended Sexton High School, where she met Eldon John Stimson. Sally and John married in 1948 and stayed at each other's side for more than 65 years. Family and friends were most important to Sally. In retirement, John and Sally spent many winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where they enjoyed the company of many other "snowbirds" from the Midwest. John and Sally joined the American Legion Post #439 after moving to Saginaw in 2010 to be near their daughter, Jill and her family. Sally will be missed dearly by her daughter, Jill (Richard) Vary of Saginaw; daughter, Jennifer Stimson of Fort Collins, CO; daughter, Joni (Chris) DeGabriele of Novato, California; and son, John (Susan) Stimson of Oceanside, California. She will be missed as well by grandchildren: Jason (special friend, Erica), Karl (Amanda), and Julia Vary; Patrick and Janine Allen; Thomas (Rebecca) and Daniel DeGabriele; and Aaron and Alaina Stimson; and also by great-grandchildren Matthew and Annalise Vary, Adelyn Vary and Ari DeGabriele. Sally was preceded in death by her husband and sisters-in-law: June Sather and Ruth Ludwig. A Memorial Service will be held, at a later date at First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church, Saginaw or Pathways Hospice, Fort Collins, CO in memory of Sally.
