Colleen Gilliland

GILLILAND, Colleen Lois of Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and dear friend passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Shattuck Manor. She was 89 years old. Colleen Lois Waack was born on November 28, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Harold B. and Phyllis G. (Wise) Waack. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1950. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald Harold Gilliland, her loving husband of 56 years, on January 22, 1955 in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2011. Colleen was kind, and generous and was loved by everyone who knew her. Colleen was a member of Martha Washington Chapter #113, Order of the Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Nile Temple MaKere #99. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and Rick LeVasseur of Auburn; two grandchildren: Adam LeVasseur of Denver, CO and Laura (Joe) Shadik of Allen Park; two great grandchildren, William and Lucas Shadik. Also surviving are two brothers-in-law: Robert (Linda) Gilliland and Daniel Gilliland; several nephews, nieces, and many dear and close friends. FUNERAL: Colleen's Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Deacon Jeff Rauschert will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
