Gerald Zill

Zill, Gerald "Jerry" Saginaw Twp., Michigan Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and dear friend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was 71 years old. Gerald George Zill was born on May 13, 1949 in Saginaw to the late Roland and Clara (Kohn) Zill. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School. Jerry proudly served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving a bronze star. Following his service to his country, Jerry met his lovely wife to be, Marta R. Mose, on a blind date. It was on that date that Jerry knew he had met his future wife. They were married on April 22, 1972 in Saginaw. Jerry was a manager for Behlor and Young Heating and Cooling, and then worked for General Motors. Jerry and Marta spent many years between Houston, Texas and Saginaw, Michigan. Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marta; children: Michael (Kathy) Rindhage, Denise (Linda) Rindhage, Lynn (Jill) Zill and Sara Zill; a special son, Leonard Kuchinski; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Robert Zill; sister, Sue Hadd; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald (Bernice) Zill; sisters, Mary Mottashed and Marlene (William) Ernst; two infant siblings, Howard and Lucille Zill; and sister-in-law, Patricia Zill. Jerry's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, VNA Visiting Nurses and his daughter, Jill for their care and support during Jerry's illness. According to Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project or donate food or clothing in Jerry's memory to the Old Town Christian Out Reach Center.
