Obituary
Jean, Christine Carrollton, MI Christine Nowell Schultz Jean, age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2020. She was born on December 2, 1949 in Saginaw to the late Robert L. and Miriam L. (Waxler) Schultz. Christine graduated from Carrollton High School in 1968, she then furthered her education and received her LPN license. Christine was a natural caregiver, and enjoyed working at St. Luke's Hospital and then as a charge nurse at various nursing homes. She married Melvin Thornton on April 22, 1972, and he passed away on May 31, 1974. She then married, John Michael Jean on March 8, 1975 in Saginaw at Messiah Lutheran Church, he preceded her in death on August 21, 2016. She has already left a gaping hole in the lives of her family. Christine is survived by her children: Tammy Dorion, Eric Jean, his wife Pamela, Andrea Curtis, her husband Jerry, Benjamin Jean and Melanie McHenry and her husband, Ryan; grandchildren: Mitchell and Lia Mauricio, Abigail and Arielle Jean, Craig Curtis, Danyelle Sobus, Vennessa (Austin) Sobus, Anya, Alec and Harley Curtis, Noelle Jean, Elijah and Maeva McHenry. She is also survived by six great grandchildren; siblings: Kathy Thayer, Carl (Heidi) Schultz, Jeannine (Mark) North and Robert (Laurie) Schultz; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Tim Thayer. Christine's love for family has been passed onto her children and grandchildren. Her legacy will live on in each of them. The Jean family has been so blessed to have had the last few days to care for Christine and spend time together. There will be no funeral at this time and cremation has taken place per her wishes. Her family will have a gathering in her honor at a later date. The Deisler Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Jean family. Melanie, I am so saddened to hear of your moms passing. My prayers go out to you and your family. I worked with your mom at the nursing home back in the day. Just reconnected with her, seems like yesterday. I was hoping to see her then covid hit. Lots of good memories. Dont know if you remember me, its Dina. So sorry for your loss
