Frances DiMercurio

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on May 6, 2020 at Covenant Healthcare. She was 93 years old. Frances Lograsso was born on August 27, 1926 to the late Lorenzo and Rose (Venezia) Lograsso in San Diego, CA. She married William "Bill" Di Mercurio on September 6, 1947 in San Diego, CA. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2012. Fran was a wonderful mother always putting the needs of her family first. Being the wonderful Italian woman she was, she loved to cook, bake, sew and knit. When her kids were still at home all had to be at the table for dinner and if there were friends over, they always had to stay too. No one ever declined her invitation and that made her happy. You never stopped at Fran and Bills to just say hello. You had to stay and eat. An Italian meal or a special Italian dessert with a cup of hot coffee was always shared. In the last few years Fran was at Healthsource where everyone loved her and her stories about growing up in San Diego or the wonderful life she had with Bill with her family in Saginaw. Her final days were spent at Covenant Healthcare where the nurses took such loving care of her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ashley and Amanda who stood by her side when she was scared and otherwise alone. Amanda would stay by her side and hold her hand giving her great comfort. They were her angels here on Earth and the Di Mercuico Family cannot thank them enough! Amanda was her guardian angel. She is survived by her three children: Prudence "Prudy" (Donald) Waugh, Rose Di Mercuio and Lawrence (Jennifer) Di Mercuio; four grandchildren: James (April) Waugh, Marc (Shelly) Owens, Francine Owens and Lawrence Jr. Di Mercurio; five great grandchildren: Preston, Carter and Landon Waugh and Roselyn and Nicholas Owens; plus many nieces and nephews. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, William in 2012, her son, Sam in 2002 and she was the last of seven children. FUNERAL: In keeping with the state mandated restrictions, Frances's family will be having a private funeral mass at St. Francis de Sales Parish, St. Christopher Church, 3945 Williamson Rd. Bridgeport, MI 48601 on Monday, May 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Fr. John Mancini to officiate. Interment to follow at St. Andrews Cemetery.
