Henry Baase

Baase, Henry A. Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was 81 years old. Henry Alfred Baase was born on September 30, 1938 in Bridgeport, MI to the late Florence (Snider) and Howard B. Baase Sr. He was raised in Burt, and attended Chesaning Schools. Henry proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War in Washington, D.C. In Washington, D.C. he met his sweetheart, Diane Ruth Bailey and they were married on November 12, 1960 in Covington, KY. Henry was employed with General Motors for 25 years as a Millwright. Henry loved to farm, fish and hunt. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Henry will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Diane R. Baase; his children: Alan Baase, Troy (Sue) Baase, Lisa McMall, Todd (Laura) Baase and Lori (David) Bixby; grandchildren: Christy (Chuck), Tracy (Kevin), Justin (Leslie), Shauna (Joey), Jonah, Starri, Andrea, Adam, Jennifer (Jeff), Scott (Crystal) and Errinn (Jovi); 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Ellen (Jim) Emmendorfer, Shirley (Dennis) Tessin, Pat Boucher, Harriett (Jim) Barror and Linda (Jerry) Sykes; brother, Harold (Gayle) Baase; brother-in-law, Dale Hall; sister-in-law, Joan (Frank) Garnett. Henry is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Jesse Hall, Howard Baase Jr., Emily (Virgil) Cline and Frank (Donna) Baase; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and English Bailey; and brother-in-law: Jerry Boucher Sr. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Heartland Hospice. Due to the current health situation and group gathering limitations, the family will be planning a memorial service for Henry at a later date to be announced.
