Martin Flores

Flores, Martin Sanches Jr. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away early Sunday morning, January 19, 2020 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was 75 years old. Martin was born October 12, 1944 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to the late Martin and Maria (Sanches) Flores. He married Linda Sue Chappins on March 21, 1986 in Saginaw, Michigan. Martin proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War earning the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during the Vietnam War. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company as a Supervisor, retiring in 1987. He also worked at Saginaw Valley Ford for many years. He was a Proud Club Veteran member for many years. He loved riding his motorcycle. Martin also enjoyed reading and meeting up with his friends. But, what He really loved most was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Linda; children, Jesse (Ashley) Flores and their children Sophia and Taylor, Patricia Flores, Martin Flores III, and Jessica Flores; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; his sisters, Anita (Valentine) Mora and Leandra Leroux and many nieces and nephews. Martin was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Flores. FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski and Deacon Gary Patelski will officiate. Rite of Committal to follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family, c/o Linda Flores.
